Class Title:

Surveying Relationships

Instructor:

David L. Balk

Description:

Surveying Relationships is a companion course to Surveying Ethics, also offered by Professional Development Seminars. This course, in a light and non-academic fashion, focuses on the value of developing trusting business relationships as professional surveyors and individuals.

The course is intended to:

1.  Serve as an awareness device for our everyday conduct and behavior both professionally and personally.

2.  Reinforce our understanding that all relationships are rooted in the trust the parties have for each other and to provide some tools to use to develop and strengthen trusting relationships.

In addition to course narrative, the material includes “Observations of the Author” from his experiences in the business world, “What Would You Do” case studies for surveyors, and is sprinkled with “Takeaways”, bits of wisdom (“Say something positive to another when everything is going well.”), to add emphasis to the topics being discussed.
