Effective May 7, 2002 the Minimum Technical Standards for Surveying in
the State of Alabama is no longer the law. To continue practicing under
this old rule could cause you serious consequences in a court of law or
before the State Board, because the new rule is intended to be a set of Standards
of Practice rather that Minimum Standards.
There were about 83 subsections in the old rule. Of these, only about 24
subsections remained unchanged, 44 were revised and 15 repealed. Some 16 new
subsections were added to the rule. How familiar are you with these
significant changes to the way you must now practice? The course points out,
in easy to read annotations, all of the differences between the old "Minimums"
and the new "Standards". This course is a must for all Alabama
Professional Surveyors.
